Laura Linney is an American actor who has become well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. She was raised by an unmarried mother, who worked as a nurse. Her interest with theatre in holidays with her famous father. Her studies in acting were in Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. After graduating at Brown University she made making her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. After two years of this, her first feature film hit the market, and next year she made her television debut. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of TV productions, films and stage plays. She has been awarded numerous prizes in her long career. These include four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. However, despite all the accolades, her love for theatre remains in her, and she still performs onscreen and onstage.
